Is Virgin media Broadband really that fast?
It depends on who your carrier (the company that owns the wire coming into your house) is. If you’re going to be using the same carrier, you can just buy a faster connection, up to the limit of their capability. Going to another ISP won’t change that, because you’re still on the same speed between you and the carrier, and an internet connection is as fast as it’s SLOWEST part. Virgin can feed them gigabit internet for you, but you’ll never see it. If Virgin is going to give you fiber to the house (and you don’t already have fiber to the house), you can get much faster speeds. (Fiber is capable of more speed than you want to pay for – thousands of dollars/month.
