Moreover, it concerns the regulation of formaldehyde emission from composite wood panels, i.e. particleboard, MDF and hardwood plywood. Technically, therefore, Vicwood Engineered Veneer is not affected by the rule. However, as it is made of various sheets of veneer glued together into a block, different levels of formaldehyde emission are possible. Generally speaking, Vicwood uses an E-1 level formaldehyde-emission glue and this has been an accepted standard in Europe for the past several years. The level is tested in our mill via a dessicator and our levels consistently match those imposed by these European standards, i.e. less than or equal to 1.5mg/L.
