Is Venus retrograde similar to Mercury retrograde?
The questions doesn’t state whether the retrograde Venus is in a chart or just in transit. I’ll try to address both. Retrograde planets at one time were always considered to be a debility. The problem is that the debility was never, as far as I know, clearly defined. It was treated as sort of an “ugh, it’s retrograde.” Modern astrology says that what the planet represents is “internalized,” which is cute but not too enlightening. Mercury retrograde was always sort of special not so much in a chart, but in transit. Astrologers notice that things just seem to go wrong when Mercury is Rx or they claimed to notice that. Maybe they just looked harder, but I will say I once had a string of serious computer problems all occurring out of the blue with Mercury retrograde.
