This was selected as Best Answer One of the big problems with many health conditions is that excess acidity in the body increases symptoms. Vegetables and vegetable juices decrease acidity in the body due to the alkalising effects. So it makes sense that having vegie juices is acceptable if you were having limited overal vegetable intake beforehand. This study showed that the addition of juices lowered blood pressure in the group having them. Garlic does this too, as does exercise.
