Is Vaastu connected to gardening or landscaping?
Vaastu and gardening or landscaping are interdependent. Gardening is an integral part of Vaastu and town planning. Our ancient sages recommend that prior to the construction of a house or building, trees have to be planted. As per the standard texts of Vaastu Shastra, small plants should be planted in the west and south. Herbal plants like tulsi, madar should be planted in the north east segment. A garden inside the house is recommended in the north-west side of the house or bungalow. The distance between the saplings should be average. Heavy leaf bearing trees such as the Ashoka, Neem and Champak may be planted in the south-west side. The plants should be enclosed by walls two to three feet in height.
