Is Uzbek project a result of bread baked snacks success in other CIS countries?
Alexander Ladan: First of all Uzbekistan is a new and interesting market for us. And secondly bread baked snacks are originally Russian snacks and we are able to produce them very well. Bread baked snacks are extremely popular in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, and when they created customers almost all over again in these countries in 2000-2003, new segments (dried seafood, nuts, chips) started developing fast. Today native snacks market is still one of the most perspective in Europe. The average consumption of snacks per capita is 1,6 kg annually (without packed seeds) in our country but only 36 % of population consume snacks. As a comparison, it is 5,8 kg in Norway and 7 kg in Great Britain. Snacks are bought there by more than 90% of consumers! Reserve for development in Russia is evident: growth by 2-3 times during the following 5-10 years.
