Is UTMB encouraging employees to come to work sick?
No. The TEXAS program is designed to reward exceptional employee attendance. It is not meant to draw ill employees out of their beds and into work, where they could potentially and unintentionally spread their sickness to fellow employees or patients. The university encourages all employees to take good care of themselves, and when illness strikes, to seek the medical care they need. UTMB wants a healthy, happy and productive workforce.
