Torture is the key word, – what is ‘torture’. Americans overwhelming do not advocate torture for anybody. But the extreme dis-comfort of some of these guys is not out of the question. Torture in the past seems to be bodily mutilation, or such extreme mental anquish that they practically go insane. Anything short of what’s mentioned above is OK I guess.
