As someone once said, “the religion of Unitarian Universalism is outside the Christian consensus but the sociology of Unitarian Universalism is Protestant.” Our institutional structure and practice, including some of our language, remain grounded more in Christian forms than any other. This makes those seeking a less dogmatic alternative to mainstream Protestant Christianity comfortable among us.
