Is unemployment a root cause of joining bad groups?
Being a youth and being unemployed, in my opinion, is not a root cause for them to join bad groups. I don’t think it helps but I don’t think it’s the root cause. The root cause for kids doing what the do is the parents. Bad parenting is certainly a root cause for kids doing things such as joining bad groups. It is up to us as parents to monitor them and teach them to do the right thing. Discipline them when they do wrong and reward them when they do right. Unfortunately there are so many parents that just don’t care or have no clue as to what to do as a parent. Suddenly it’s too late and your child is doing things that you never dreamed they would do. Force yourself into their lives no matter how much they fight you and in the end you will both be better off for it. I think being employed is certainly a deterrent from a child making bad decisions because they have nothing better to do. If they can find work in this terrible economy then I would suggest you encourage them to take it. It
