Is UNC Charlotte a good school to get my MBA at?
You don’t provide enough details for me to give you an easy answer — so bear with me. My answer is different depending on whether you want a part time program when you are working — or if you want to take off two years and go full time. I am of the opinion that it isn’t worth getting a full time MBA unless you go to a top school. If you go to a top school, you can expect a big bump in salary and could change fields. If you don’t go to a top school, it is more difficult to get a higher paying job and much more difficult to change fields. So — if you are working full time in Charlotte and want a part time MBA program that will allow you to get ahead in your current position — then UNC-Charlotte is fine. But if you want a full time program so you can make that leap forward — then I would advise against it. There are at least three MBA programs in NC that are better. Duke (Fuqua) is a top ten program.
