Is UCONN just a party school?
I’m going into my 6th semester and live at one of the infamous party apartment complexes minutes off-campus. I’m also in a fraternity at UConn so I’m pretty familiar with the night life there. However, with changes in the administration and outside pressure from the state there as a whole, been a gradual decline in UConn’s party scene in past years. Even 5 years ago we were notorious in the country for being a big party school, where now alums in my fraternity all talk about how things have “calmed down”. This is also due to how much more difficult it is to get accepted into the school, with it being much more competitive with better students applying and enrolling each year. However, I wouldn’t say there’s no partying… far from it, however you must go off-campus apartments and houses to find it, such as at Carriage (where I live), Celeron, or one of the nick-named houses down that road (Puke House, Second House, Gray House, etc.). Normally the first couple of weekends every semester
