Is two months TOO LONG for a lawyer to return a call to a client?
My answer is predicated upon the assumption that an existing client called his or her lawyer and the lawyer did not return the call in sixty days. However, there may be nothing nefarious involved in the failure to return the call. The message may not have gotten to the lawyer–Most legal secretaries are wonderful people, but they do occasionally do make mistakes. My suggestion would be to call the lawyer again and if no reply is forthcoming within a week, send a message by snail mail. If you don’t get an answer in a week or so, look for another lawyer.
