After traveling around Ireland and France, I was stunned at how much cheaper great food was here in northern Tuscany. I got to thinking how a tourist might configure a Tuscan vacation in such a way as to lessen the bite of the dollar’s continuing slide. I wanted to do it in such a way that the Italian experienced would be enhanced rather than forgotten in all the cost cutting. (No trips to McDonalds or similar industrial “food” emporiums are to be found in any of my tips, just so you know.)
