Is Tupperware measuring manufacturing plant sustainability efforts?
Tupperware completed its first carbon footprint analysis in 2008. We continue to measure our progress and monitor the success of our “3Rs” (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) initiatives across the globe. • Are materials recycled or reused at Tupperware manufacturing plants? Initiatives to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle paper, cardboard, wood, energy, water, and plastics are in place at our plants across the globe. In 2008, solely in plastic raw materials globally, we reused approximately 3.6 million pounds or 1,619 tons of plastic material. • What happens to Tupperware products if they are returned? Our plants around the world work with local companies that grind the limited amount of customer returns we receive into other non-Tupperware products. This process ensures a complete life cycle for our products.
