Is Tulane University in new Orleans a safe place to go to school?
Yes, Tulane is a safe place to go to school. You can drive a Lexus without worrying. New Orleans is also a safe place to live and visit. Reality is that almost 98 percent of the serious violent crime in New Orleans happens within the illegal drug community and the other 2 percent are “domestic” incidents. That does not make the crimes OK but the average resident (including students) or tourist does not have to worry about it. To be very blunt, stay away from the people who buy, sell, or use drugs (especially crack cocaine) and the closest you will come to violent crime is seeing it on the news. Use the same basic common sense needed in every city in the world and there is little chance of being a victim of anything except a need to visit the gym. Regarding the car, your primary concern is tickets/being towed. There are LOTS of “parking control agents”. No matter where you decide to go to college you should visit first and see things for yourself. Good luck!
