is transitional kindergarten (tk) right for my child?
TK is for those kindergarten eligible children (turning 5 between June 1st and Dec. 2nd) whose parents elect to give them an additional year in a smaller, more individualized program prior to moving into a more socially and academically challenging elementary school environment. TK provides children with the “gift of time” to mature, build confidence, and further develop their social, emotional and/or pre-academic skills in our warm and loving Christian preschool environment. With the increasing demands of Kindergarten, and parents’ desire for a developmental educational option, UCNS realizes the growing need for a third year preschool program. In the past, preschoolers with summer and fall birthdays have often repeated our Pre-Kindergarten program. We recognize that this is not an ideal option, so we have developed our TK program to meet the unique needs of children in this age group.
