Is “traction control system” the same as the limited slip differential that other manufacturers offer?
A – No. The automatic traction control system works in conjunction with the full power foundation brakes and anti-lock system to keep the bus under control. The systems reduce wheel slip on surfaces through the use of differential braking and engine torque reduction. This leads to increased traction and stability. When the vehicle is at speeds above 25 mph, engine torque reduction is used for stability. Limited slip differential only transfers traction to both rear wheels without the use of anti-lock brakes, engine torque or foundation brakes. | TOP OF PAGE | Q – Will the IC International MaxxForce engines use SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology that requires the use of UREA injections in the exhaust system to meet the 2010 EPA emissions standards like other bus manufacturers? A – No. The MaxxForce engines will use Advanced EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) to meet the 2010 emission standards just like the 2007 emission standards. ALL MANUFACTURERS will use EGR technology to m
