Is Totally Ferret a good food?
Answer Hello Glorea, Thank you for your question. I have not personally heard of Superior brand of ferret food. I have used Totally Ferret and 8in1 and I do not recommend either. Commercial ferret foods, in my experience ( and many other ferret owners) have been found to cause the ferrets stools to very oily, and pungent smelling, as well as increse the ferret odor in their coat. I would say to use a kitten food, high in protein, but as your ferret gets a bit older (1 years or so), switch to an adult cat food. The problem is that there are as many debates on what to feed your ferret as there are ferret owners. Some feed kitten food, some swear by cat food, some are appalled at feeding kitten/cat food, and swear by ferret food … and then there are actually some ferret owners who feed raw meat!
