Is tipping required and what is the proper way to tip?

Tipping is not required but it is greatly appreciated. It is a way of expressing appreciation for the dancer. In Arabic custom, the “tipper” will hold the money in his/her hand and fan it over the dancers head and then let it go to “shower” over her. The dancer will usually let you know where it is acceptable to tip her.
