Is Timor a part of Indonesia?
Timor (Republica Democratica de Timor Leste) is no longer a part of the Republic of Indonesia. It was once a part of Indonesia in the year 1976 until they achieved independence in the year 2002. After their independence, they cut all relations with Indonesia by adopting Portuegese as a national language, changing its currency to US dolar, and most importantly changing its name from Timor Leste to Republica Democratica de Timor Leste.
