All software, in general, except open source software, is subject to some level of U.S. export control — even commonly available off-the-shelf programs. TimeSys’ proprietary software are subject to minimal levels of U.S. export controls that prohibit any U.S. citizen or resident from exporting that software into any country that has U.S. sanctions imposed against it (currently North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan and Libya) without first obtaining a license from the U.S. government, or to any entity or individual who has been identified as a potential terrorist threat by the U.S. government (entities listed on any U.S. Department of Treasury or Department of Commerce “specially designated” or “denied entity” lists).
