Is time travel a distinct possibility?
No. Time and space are inseparable concepts. You cannot travel to the past because what already happened no longer exists in the physical world. Same thing for the future: if it didn’t happen, it doesn’t exist yet. P.S. This doesn’t mean that time wouldn’t pass at difference paces in different conditions. Check the general theory of relativity.
Actually, time is a linear developement for us humans. We live day to day, and can not at this time, travel back into the past. With Einsteins Theory, about space travel, being that if you go out far enough, that time slows down…(I never believed in that one, because the clicks of the clock, still are one second whether here on Earth or on the moon or alpha centuri). Now, when you are asleep, you are not “counting time” as you are in REM sleep and dreaming. Your body’s clock is resetting itself, so that you will face the next day with refreshed strenght and emotions. (Unless you are a restless sleeper on insomniac). So, you are just not “conciously” tracking time, and you think that you go “faster”…But, its not, its the same amount of clicks on the time piece…(yea, have a restless night and a big ben clock around and listen to each click of the thing, it will drive you completely nuts!). If its possible, to go out into space and “slow down, or reverse time”, then it wont be in ou
I find that drink helps, I have managed to leap from early evening to the following morning with only 3 minor problems: 1) The time dilation seems to decrease the amount of money in my wallet to a minor but significant proportion 2) The affects of time travel for this period of time does seem to cause a nauseous feeling and some head pain which takes several hours to dissipate 3) The affects of this time dilation seems to affect my clothing in a most strange manner, usually some combination of chili sauce and vomit can be found on some item of apparel
