Is timber framing more expensive than conventional construction?
We understand the importance of sticking to the budget and timber framing does not have to be more expensive. The price also depends on your timber choice, enclosure system, heating system and the standard of the interior finishing you chose. Although it is impossible to generalize costs nationwide, timber frame structures are comparable to other forms pf custom construction. Custom construction is roughly 15 – 30 percent more expensive than your standard builder. In the end it is you who is deciding how much you want to spend on your structure, but remember, timber framed structures are very durable and energy efficient.
