Is Tillamook ice cream affected by the January 2009 peanut butter recall?
Due to the recent outbreak of salmonella in peanut products from Peanut Corporation of America, we want to assure our consumers that this recall does not involve any of our ice cream products containing peanut butter. The peanut butter vendors or suppliers that supply the Tillamook County Creamery Association with the peanut butter products used in Tillamook Ice Cream have verified these products are not involved in the peanut butter recall. Their production processes utilize a stringent quality assurance program including testing of their ingredients to ensure that they are free of any contaminations. Additionally, we assure the quality and safety of all of our ingredients by verification with quality control inspections and certificates of analysis for each lot.
