Thread Count is not the best indication of a fabric’s quality, the most important factor is the quality of the fibers used to weave the fabric. Advertising and marketing for linens and sleepwear are unregulated, so there is also no guarantee that information on product packaging is accurate. Searching online for high thread count items will result in an array items promoted as 600 to 1000 Thread Count, most for a fairly low price. Be very skeptical of these products as there are only so many threads that anyone can fit into a square inch of fabric. If some of the finest bedding brands have items all with less than a 300 Thread Count, there is a very low chance that someone advertising a higher thread count for a lower price is being entirely truthful about their product!
