In the Caribbean, the University of the West Indies (UWI) has regarded itself as the leading institution in the area of research. The university brags about its numerous publications in top international journals and research relevant to our West Indian and wider global societies. At the UWI Mona campus, the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences houses the most research students. Research from within that faculty has impacted the Caribbean and the world.
