Im Ken and Im calling from Brattleboro, Vermont. So Ken, what is your question? Well Suze, what do you recommend for someone like me who really wants to live in Brattleboro but can no longer afford it? First Ken, answer some questions and then Ill make my recommendations. Does Brattleboro have the type of town government that has no money and is constantly taking out loans to pay its bills? Yes it is, Suze. Both the town and school system operate on a credit card mentality borrow now and hopefully find a way to pay for it at some future date. They are constantly robbing Peter to pay Paul. Was it always this way Ken? No Suze, it was not. Back in 1972, some thirty-four years ago, the Selectboard in town made a terrible decision that forever altered Brattleboros fiscal stability.
