Is this substrate ok for breeding wax worms?

Weetabix and honey seems to be the most common substrate that people use, however some people would prefer to use a substrate that isn’t artificial – such as honeycomb (the weetabix and honey is a ”home made honeycomb!”. This would be much better for the waxworms and they would enjoy it more, but I suppose it is a case of where you can buy it! Some jars of honey these days still have the honeycomb in but they are a little more expensive. So bran and honey, or weetabix and honey, will be the closest substitutes. As one of the contributors said before me, bee pollen is very popular but this is something that the actual moths eat, rather than the larvae. You can buy bee pollen pretty easily these days, either by searching for online livefood retailers or going to your local health shop, such as Holland and Barretts.
