Poor naive me thought that students went to college and uni to learn things so they would be capable of working and using their hard earned skills and knowledge for the betterment of themselves and society as a whole. As for giving today’s students a sense of reality – has this man no idea what it is like having to work at part time jobs to pay fees, keep a roof over your head and keep eating while trying to study on what are supposed to be full time courses. New Labour and the Tories seem to be intent on pulling up the ladder of education as a means of social mobility after having benefited financially from the educational reforms after WW2. I bet Blair nor Cameron did much community work while they were at university.
