Is this DNA transcription or RNA translation?

0

Initiation, elongation and termination are the fairly broad steps used to define the processes of transcription AND translation; Both follow them. Transcription- (production of mRNA)- Initiation: RNA polymerase binds to the -35 and -10 promoter sequence on DNA Elongation: RNA polymerase synthesizes mRNA from the DNA sequence Termination: RNA polymerase activity is terminated in a Rho-dependent or Rho-independent manner Translation- (production of proteins)- Initiation: Ribosomes bind to the Shine Delgarno sequence on the mRNA transcript Elongation: Ribosomes use tRNAs to add amino acid residues in sequence based on the mRNA codons Termination: Ribosomes dissociate from the mRNA at the TAG stop codon So both transcription and translation (protein synthesis) follow the three steps of initiation, elongation and termination. DNA replication also follows these three steps.
