Is this current financial depression a good time for a workers revolt?
As someone who has spent the last 14 years working in this country I have seen workers rights being diminished by the day. I bet not many of you know that you now have to have worked for an employer for at least 2 years to claim unfair dismissal. Thatcher emasculated our unions & Blair passed laws that gave employers totalitarian rights over their employees. The recession will allow employers to diminish the rights of workers even more and our Government, intent on attracting the trans national companies who favour countries with cheap labour workforces who have no rights, will help them just as they have in the past. Gone have the days when Governments govern in the interests of the majority of the population, ours has spent the last 10 years acting in favour of the minority ruling classes with their regressive taxation system.
