Is Thinkpad T500 good for gaming?
The ThinkPad T500 will easily handle SIMS 3. You have two options when you purchase a ThinkPad T Series, either integrated graphics or discrete graphics. Integrated Graphics means that you will have a graphics chip on the mother board, a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator x4500HD with vPro. Whilst this isn’t a ‘dedicated’ graphics chipset it will easily handle SIMS 3. Choose the ThinkPad T500 with the ‘discrete’ graphics option and you get a dedicated chipset, the ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256MB with Intel Advanced Management Technology. This is easily capable of handling almost all graphic intensive applications and is certainly capable of handling most games that you want, with the exception of real high end stuff like Crysis. On top of all that the T500 with discrete graphics option has the ability to ‘switch’ between graphic chipsets to save your battery when your not using a heavy graphics application.
