Is there Wireless Service in Yellowstone? Can I use GeoRoamer in Yellowstone without wireless service?
Wireless communications in Yellowstone are allowed in very limited areas to provide for visitor safety and to enhance park operations. The current plan restricts towers, antennas, and wireless services to a few limited locations in the park, in order to protect park resources and limit the impact on park visitors. No cell phone service is allowed in the vast majority of Yellowstone and is currently limited to the immediate vicinity of Canyon, Grant Village, Mammoth Hot Springs, and Old Faithful. There is limited Wi-Fi service provided by park concessioners in some buildings but are prohibited in the Old Faithful Inn and the Lake Hotel in order to preserve the historic lodging experience. It is due to these limitations that we recommend GeoRoamer customers update the App prior to entering Yellowstone National Park to ensure they have the latest information for the best experience during use.
