Is there such thing as a tripod for a camcorder and digital camera that rolls?
I’m assuming you mean, effectively, a tripod on wheels. Go to any professional video equipment supplier and you can buy dollys – triangular trolleys that are designed to put a tripod on. They’re not cheap! In London, there are a couple of places along Tottenham Court Road that do this kind of kit, along with the tripods that are specifically designed for this type of use. If you’re into DIY, its not difficult to make one up yourself. Three pieces of 2 x 1 wood joined into a triangle with triangular stiffening pieces in the angles will do for the frame. The costly bit is three good quality, large diameter, pneumatic tyred wheels. At least one should have a foot operated brake. Make a cup-shaped depression in the wood at each corner to take the tripod leg.
