Is there such a thing as a comfortable seat for a bicycle?

Yes there is such a thing, but it won’t necessarily be the same one for all bikes and all people. For a road bike with drop bars, you need a narrow saddle, for a bike where you sit upright, a wider saddle is needed. Women have a wider pelvis, so their saddles need to wider to support their pelvic bones. Everybody is different so no one saddle works for everybody. There is also the fact that you need time in the saddle to adapt yourself to riding. Every year I have to put in the “butt miles” in order to be comfortable when I do those 4-5 hour rides in the summer.
