Is there such a crime as on-line stalking, and would the FBI become involved.?
Stalking is not a crime, it seems like it would be, but it isn’t. Making threats against a person is a crime, which differs from so called “stalking.” Law enforcement will almost always attempt to read the seriousness of threats against you. And no, the F.B.I. doesn’t get involved in something like this. The first step is to block the person from communicating with you, you can block them on e-mail, IM or any social networking site. If this does not stop the problem, then it is time to contact the site administrator. They can review the problem and suspend the user. This should end the problem unless the user/stalker has specific other information about you that could enable that person could contact you. If someone goes that far and they are threatening you, it might be a good idea to get law enforcement involved. While the person cannot be arrested (unless you get a restraining/protective order through a judge, and they will probably have to live in your county to make that truly eff
