Is there still a Pioneer Chicken restaurant open?
Pioneer Chicken, as you clearly know already, was a successful chicken franchise in the Western US. It was bought out by Popeyes Chicken in the 1990s. A few original locations remain. I have never tasted their chicken personally; but, after your question, I will make it a point to go there the next time I’m in the LA area. Note that Pioneer Chicken is also in China under a different name owing to linguistic reasons.
