Is there really a statue of liberty in Belgium?
Manneken Pis is supposed to be our Statue of Liberty as according to one of the legend he peed on the boots of a very important King (can’t remember which one for sure ) to show him that the Belgians would always try to remain independent and never – willingly – agree to be dominated by another nation. Even if it is not a real statue of Liberty, it is still considered the most important statue in Belgium and is considered “a must see” site. Belgium is located in Western Europe and considered the most central country in the E.U. Therefore, Belgium’s capital Brussels is also Europe’s capital. After New-York, Brussels is the city in the world with the highest number of diplomats.
