Is there really a need for a sport and wellness centre at Keyano College?
The Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre is a facility that is greatly needed both within the community and at Keyano College. Current sport and wellness programs at Keyano College have been limited by the facilities we currently have, and the new centre will allow these programs to grow and flourish. From the perspective of collegiate athletics this facility will not only heighten the image of our programs but also act as a recruiting tool for strengthening our teams and bringing new student athletes to our college. As the Long Boat Landing residential community begins to develop, Fort McMurray will soon welcome a new community of 1100 homes with an expected 3000 residents. The Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre will address the fitness and recreation needs of this developing community as well as the needs of residents in the other thriving areas of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
