Is there preference given to students who are pursuing a Student Personnel/Higher Education degree?
Not exactly! While many of our student staff are in the Student Personnel and Higher Education graduate program, we currently have grads in many academic programs including education, counseling, and sport management to name a few. Students going into the SPHE program tend to have more experience in residence education and their future occupational/educational goals more often coincide with the duties of the graduate positions. At the same time, the department prides itself in having a diverse group of student staff and encourages all interested persons to apply!
