Is there precedent for the merger of two SfN committees?
Yes. SfN’s Public Education and Communication Committee resulted from a highly effective merger of the Public Information Committee and the Committee on Neuroscience Literacy. Also, SfN’s Membership Committee and Committee on Chapters merged to become the Membership & Chapters Committee. Such consolidations have allowed the larger, combined committees to pursue broader agendas, more efficiently achieve common objectives, better align related projects, optimize support from SfN staff, and maximize the impact of activities.
