Is there overlap between Sabin Americana, 1500–1926 and Readexs Early American Imprints (Series I and Series II)?
There is some overlap with the Early American Imprints series (Evans and Shaw-Shoemaker). Of the works in Sabin Americana, 1500–1926, approximately 5,500 are published in the United States prior to 1820 and therefore may be part of those two collections. As Gale continues adding content to Sabin Americana, 1500–1926, we are avoiding additional overlap by concentrating on materials not in those collections which includes U.S.-based publications from prior to 1639 or from 1820– the early 1900’s or works from the Sabin bibliography published in other countries, which make up a considerable amount of the bibliography.
