Is there organization similar to OPEC that controls a portion of the natural gas industry?
No. For many years, the federal government regulated the price of gas from the producers. This proved to be unsuccessful and resulted in artificial shortages. Fifteen years ago, the government decided to let competition develop and let normal business practices take control of the natural gas industry. Currently, the natural gas market is competitive and open.
