Is there objective, independent analysis of TCAPS financial situation?
Yes. The ratings agencies of Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s each independently evaluate the district’s financial operations, planning, and positioning for the future. Both of these agencies have rated our district in the “AA-” category, which is a very high rating. We are one of only a handful of school districts in the state to have such high marks and may be the only low funded district with such a high rating by both firms. Additionally, the International Association of School Business Officials has awarded the “Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting” for our annual comprehensive financial report for two years in a row. Our independent auditing firm has continues to give our district a “clean” report and indicates that we handle our finances in a very efficient and effective manner.
