Is there legislation which governs recruiters?

Unfortunately there are no overall guidelines or regulations specific to recruitment agencies across Canada. All recruiters in Alberta must be licensed under the Alberta Employment Business Licensing Regulations which follows the regulations of the Canadian Fair Trading Act (FTA). To date, Alberta is the only province to have such regulations.
