Is there inservice training provided for new Teachers?
Newly hired teachers with the HPEDSB are offered the opportunity to participate in new teacher orientation. This is held the 2nd last week in August prior to the beginning of the new school year. Orientation is provided in the areas of curriculum services, planning resources, special education services and staff policies and procedures. Participation is mandatory for Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI).
