Is there honestly a point in doing homework?

Yes, and it’s an important one. It took me many years to figure it out myself. We learn things by doing them. It’s really hard to grasp mathematical concepts without working through problems. The same goes for remembering things, including spelling words, historical facts, and so on. During school, many students tend to think that the things we are learning are irrelevant to life, and that we will not need that information to succeed. That logic makes homework itself seem pointless. The fact is that we DO need a lot of that information, and the more homework we’ve done, the more likely it is to stay with us. The other option is to relearn it all the hard way. I spent 10 years learning things the hard way until I went back to school. I have to say that I actually enjoy homework now. Without it, I would have had a difficult time grasping the concepts of Accounting and Business Math and the like, and I wouldn’t be an honor student.

Honestly? Not at all. Homework is given to us students to refresh our memories and minds of what we learned during the day. The reason as to why homework doesn’t matter is because no one does it. In HS, teachers give so much homework, it takes about 5 hours to get it done each night, from what I can remember. Most kids don’t do their homework during their next class or at home, they(we) do homework the next day, in the class before the class that the homework is due, not paying attention in their other class 3. Some kids don’t even do homework at all and get extremely good grades. In my opinion, homework should be banned or taken away. Kids go to school, and work all day. When they come home, they should have freedom from their rough school day, but instead, we have to do gr
