Is there going to be an avengers movie?
Yes, there will be. It has been no secret, since a day or so after “Iron Man” officially opened, that there would be an Avengers movie in 2011. Marvel released more information about the character line-up for the movie in a report to its stockholders early this week. The Avengers will feature Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man and the Wasp, all of whom were the original Avengers in the very first issue of that series. Captain America will also be featured in the Avengers movie (his first modern appearance (if you consider 1964 modern) was in Avengers #4), which is fitting since he is probably the character most associated with the Avengers over the past four plus decades. The title of the Captain America movie will be: “Captain America, the First Avenger.” As noted, there will also be a Thor movie. Presumably, Nick Fury will also appear in the Avengers film but not as an Avenger.
