Yes, the College of Visual and Performing Arts will open with the Fall 2002 semester. The School of Art, the School of Music, and the Department of Theatre and Dance will move from the College of Arts and Sciences to the College of Visual and Performing Arts. The creation of the new college has been officially approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. President Schmidly, Provost Burns, and Dean Winer fully support the creation of the new college.
